Fire department investigation

A District 5 resident demanded a truly independent investigation of the fire department turmoil, praised the new south Montebello police substation but criticized its poorly publicized opening, and opposed data centers and battery storage facilities.

He said a nearly 1,100-page agenda packet shuts the public out of review, and asked the council to retain a truly independent outside investigator into the fire department allegations.

She said the department's brotherhood is fractured and urged a serious, impartial investigation before more damage is done to firefighters and their families.
